Quick Links: Fix Typo | Adjust Naming

Scenario 1: Fix a typo in category name

Situation: Discovered a typo in Category Name, e.g., "Fod" instead of "Food".

How to do it:

1. Go to Product Categories list
2. Click "Fod" to enter the details page, then click the "Edit" button
3. Correct the name to "Food"
4. Click "Save"

Result: Category name corrected. Products using this category will automatically display the correct name.

Scenario 2: Adjust category naming for better clarity

Situation: The original "Food" category is too generic and needs to be changed to "Dry Food" to differentiate from other types.

How to do it:

1. Go to the category edit page
2. Change "Food" to "Dry Food"
3. Click "Save"

Result: Category name adjusted. Products and filters will display the new name.

2. Feature Guide

The EditProduct Categories feature allows you to modify a category's name. After modification, the change will immediately sync to all products using this category. Since categories are shared by all merchants, changes will affect everyone—please confirm before saving.

3.1 FAQ

▪ Will changing the name affect products?

Products are linked to categories by ID, not by name. After modifying Category Name, all products using this category will automatically display the new name without any additional action required.

▪ Getting a "Name already exists" error?

This means a category with the same name already exists. Please use a different name, or check if categories need to be merged. You can search the Product Categories list to confirm existing categories.

▪ Will the change affect other merchants?

Yes. Categories are shared by all merchants. After modification, all merchants' products will display the new Category Name. Please confirm before saving.

▪ Is there a character limit for category names?

We recommend keeping names under 20 characters. Names that are too long may not display completely in lists and dropdowns.

▪ Can I edit multiple categories at once?

Bulk editing is not currently supported. You need to edit categories one at a time. If you need to make many changes, we recommend planning ahead and modifying sequentially.

• Modifying Category Name affects all merchants
